It's October

Oh my dog, it is the first day of October already, where has the flipping year gone  ( sitting on the boundary of some or other cricket ground mostly).

The weather has turned milder and I Lady Lainey cannot make myself do anything constructive, apart from knitting cricket jumper tea cosies, in reality I only need one, but now the teapot has one for every day!

Great news came through yesterday that Yorkshire's opening batsmen Lyth and Lees were recognised by The Cricket Writers Club for their outstanding performances this season.
Quite rightly too, Adam Lyth was named 'Championship Player of the Year' and his amazing score of 1489 runs which included six, hundreds stands testament to that choice!
Alex Lees was also names 'Young Cricketer of the year' and  is the fourth Yorkshire player to win this title in the last seven year.

Yes well deserved I think.

Now why didn't Gillespie the Gallant get an award for being the besty coach in the whole flipping world???

More changes at Hampshire as David Balcombe heads to Surrey where he went through the academy. Balcombe has made only four appearances this season for Hants, and is coming up to 30. He said that he made a 'selfish' decision to go back to Surrey, as he needs to be playing more cricket.

Good luck to him.

cricket news at the moment is all about changes in the counties.
Somerset have appointed Matthew Maynard the new Director of cricket , he has been  coaching in the CPL and in South Africa after leaving Glamorgan four years ago.

Now when will news filter through of back room changes at former besty home county of Durham?. I can't wait for Otis Gibson to take over as coach!

OK enough with the 'Psychic  Psycho' stuff.

I am off to Super Swanky Lady Lainey office  to go to sleep and dream of cricket.
