50 shades of ginger (and grey)

Well I am not happy to report that the old barnet has not responded  well to the  change of water and sunshine. I now have a serious afro and am various shades of ginger, luckily I have some colour mousse which sort of evens it out. I will be using it later!
I also have an emergency appointment with Jackie the tamer of the 'fro' at 10am!

This however can be the only moan I have about my trip away, which was remarkably low on social media, high on reading and sleeping, eating and drinking, and just what I needed.

I didn't want to come home, but sadly I had to

I  managed a quick garden tour before I left, which was stunning and  I am now trying to work out how I can incorporate this into my garden at home, well maybe more adding touches of azur bleu.

However I'm back home and will be making my own bed, washing my own clothes and cooking.
In fat there is washing on the line as I type.

and cricket?

Well I have my first day of cricket for 2019 tomorrow and I am hoping that

1. I can get parked
2. I can keep warm
3. I don't fall asleep at 2pm ( afternoon nap time)

Best go and boil up a pot of home made soup.

Happy Saturday

2 books down and plenty of sleep

oh the sheer joy of sleeping and reading and swimming and having someone come in and clean and cook meals. I am being thoroughly spoilt.
I will take badly to having to do this  for myself!

Anyhoo, weather is good and I am two books down and loving doing nothing.

I had a trip out yesterday, forgot my camera and my phone!!!!
I had however forgotten the joy of not having a phone beeping every 5 minutes. It is positively refreshing and something that I am going to put into practise more in the coming months.

I've a busy summer ahead and its a long time until the next jolly in October, so this one was about recharging my batteries.

Cricket seems to still be banging on about the Jos Buttler 'thing'.
Even the MCC have commented on it, in which case no need for me to put in my thoughts.

I caught up on all things Yorkshire and was pleased to see the video of the lads out training, especially Ben.

#weareteamben

And I even managed to organise some special 'team' bits and pieces.

Hopefully I will catch up with Ben on Sunday.

And with that I am off to have a (fabulously strong) coffee and some gooey date cake and get back to my book .

Have a great day.

Tuesday 26 March 2019

busy busy,

By lunchtime,I hope to be nearly ready to pick up my book, and relax.

I think that I need it more than I realised.

Last night involved an interview, which turned out to be a total waste of my time.
However for the next few days, that is all a million miles away and I am concentrating on sleeping, eating, drinking and reading the books that I have brought with me.

I'm not sure that a couple of Lynda Le Plante books are going to be light reading, or notes on The Illiad!, luckily I also have the Tattooist of Auschwitz.!!!!!!

In other news, much has been made of Warner and his IPL appearance.
This is not at all on my radar, what he does now will always  be over shadowed by what he did last year.

IPL is figuring largely in all the news and to be honest I have no desire to watch it.
They are even broadcasting it on 5live Sport.
I have however read the reports of Buttlers dismissal. I'm not sure the press would be making so much of it if it wasn't an English player.

Ah the IPL, the flagship of Franchise cricket!!!
I cannot wait for to to arrive here!

And with that I am off,
Have a great week, I am unsure whether I will be around much, but I will try.

Monday 25 March 2019

Back to it!

And here we are again at Monday, start of the week and lots going on.

I've woken up with a streaming cold, which is just typical with the week ahead that's planned. Ah well just get on with it.

However first to Saturday, which was the AGM.

It was interesting in many ways as apart from the usual financials there was also talk of the '100'.

Not a popular topic here in the Chateau, but something that I now have to accept is going to happen.
Well apparently all is going well for the Leeds franchise as they have key personnel in place with the exception of a coach.

Now I wonder who will be in with a chance?
My money is on Darren Lehmann...................however he wouldn't be my choice.
None of it makes any difference as we are all aware that despite paying for our memberships ( which have increased in price by £23 in 2 years and with less days cricket ), we will be forking out again on the gate ( probably at a reduced rate).
And that is when my 'Yorkshireness' kicks in, I'm not paying out again.

And whilst on the money front, many, many, many, many, years ago, if you went to watch your team play away, you got into the ground at a subsidised rate on showing your membership book ( as it was then). What ever happened to that????

Oh dear, its Monday and I am off on a rant already!

best to head off.

I may or may not be here for the next few days as I am on off on my little jaunt for some R & R.

have a great week and don't let the blighters grind you down.

Saturday 23 March 2019

Happy weekend

And what better way to start the weekend, opening the curtains and seeing Headingley.

Never fails to make me smile.

I guess that as much as I want to live abroad, I really am a Yorkshire girl at heart.

I have two routes that I take to get here and both involve some of the most wonderful scenery, Yorkshire really is a beautiful place.

Today though is about the AGM and finding out what is going to be happening at the club. And for me its to find out what we are doing to move forward. What the chairman is bringing to the table.
Interesting to see how this goes.

Sad to see in tabloids that another cricketer has been caught with his whites down.
True or not, I would have thought that anyone in the public eye would think twice.

Well super duper short one today as I have to now put my slap on , twirl my curls and get out the door to hotfoot it round the corner to the meeting.

Have a fabulous Saturday, I'll not be here tomorrow as it is blog rest day.

Friday 22 March 2019

End of the week.........

and the start of a few days get away, tomorrow is the AGM so that is all to look forward to and then next week, I am off on my jollies for a few days ( 4 to be precise).

I so excited, I have packed and unpacked, and repacked my bag at least a dozen times. To be honest I need very little as I will be sleeping, sunbathing and reading for the most part.

However lets  get today out out of the way, and first up is the visit to see Big Al and put in the breakfast order.

We need it today, after a rather explosive management meeting yesterday. less of that as I promised not to bore you with work woes.

Well now, Durham, never a club to shy from controversy, have announced that they have named Cameron Bancroft captain, this after  news that they were unsure if he would play all season.
Interesting to watch this fiasco.

I think that I need to pop into B & Q at lunchtime and stock up on sandpaper, just to be on the safe side!

Poor old crocked Reece Topley has had a hard couple of seasons but now it appears that both Middlesex and Sussex are looking at him as a possible signing. Hope that all goes well for him this season as injury has been his best friend in the past couple of years.

And now off to get Fry up day started.

Time to go and see the very jolly Big Al, he is a real tonic with his beaming smile and laugh, just what you need to set you up for the day.

Happy Friday

Thursday 21 March 2019

Time to get organised

Well here we are at Thursday and I have managed to get the last things in the bag for next week, as well as run the hoover and flick the duster over the Chateau for the viewing on Saturday morning. Yes it was all go last night.

I've also been approached about another job..................and  I'm glad that I am going away as it will give me time to consider whether to jump from this ship.
I can see that lots of changes may all happen at once.

Harry Gurney it was announced that he had 'retired' from County Championship cricket to concentrate on the white ball game.
Well, no he hasn't 'retired' he has turned his back on the game that got him where he is today in search of fame and riches in other formats ( obviously hoping that he will get a '100' contract).

Good luck mate, have fun with the 'elite'.

Wonder how long before he does a 'Rashid'?

Plans have been made for the away match at Nottingham, I am driving down Friday evening, and going to the match Saturday and Sunday. I am super excited about this.

However there are a few weeks to go before this happens so best get on and face the day.

We have a blue sky, jet trails and singing birds, it makes you realise that cricket is just around the corner.

have a great day where ever you are.

Wednesday 20 March 2019

time to take the bull by the horns

Another day another dollar as the saying goes, and this is how I am thinking about everyday at work now, its sad that there is no pleasure in your daily grind, but thats life I guess.

I have got a viewing on the chateau this weekend, luckily I will be away in Leeds so I will leave them to it. I have everything crossed that it goes well so that I can finally move and start a new chapter.

The IPL is  set to make its appearance, the game that has unintentionally sounded the death knell for County cricket here in the UK. I am still to be convinced that it is the right thing here in the UK, everyone I know that loves cricket is not for the franchise format coming here.
Will I be going to see any matches when it finally arrives?
I can honestly say no I won't!

Yorkshire seem to be doing OK in there matches in South Africa, I suggest though that they don;t put the thermals away yet.

All of @weareteamben are getting very excited about the season and all that it may hold for our young star, its exciting to be part of the start of a young players cricket life.

Lets get the week over, the AGM done and let the cricket season commence.

have a great day.

Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons!

Tuesday 19 March 2019

A bright start

It is so nice to travel to and from work in day light, I hate the dark mornings and evenings, however I haven't managed to have the usual energy spurt and think that I am just too tired, next weeks holiday cannot come quickly enough and I am really looking forward to a few days away, but lets get the AGM out of the way first.

Bad news for Warwickshire as the man with no lips is out for 3 months with a ligament injury.
That really is a blow before the season has really started.

Most county teams are away on pre season jollys and although they all say that it is essential for the teams to get out and play in the sunshine and heat, I wonder ( especially in cash strapped clubs) how they can seriously afford this.
The other side of this is, send them to South Africa, the UAE, The Caribbean, for a couple of weeks, bit of cricket, bit of sunbathing, bring them home to play in  the cold of April and they are right back where they were before they packed their speedos!!!!.
So in effect they are really just having a holiday with cricket thrown in.

Well when in Rome and all that jazz, I'm going to have some heat and culture next week.

Ive started to get my South Africa game plan in to action too, as my personal travel rep out there has selected me 3 hotels. Also there will be a couple of wine tours, olive oil tasting and also chocolate tasting from all accounts.
Its all coming together.

and now its time to head off onto the 167 and work my way through the traffic.

Have a great Tuesday

Monday 18 March 2019

Happy Monday

Well its Monday and time to look ahead to this week, try to put a positive spin on it.
After a busy weekend, I think that I need to go to work for a rest, although no chance of that!

So Saturday was a cold wet day and I did all the jobs that I had to do and then got ready to party.
I had told myself, not to party too hard as I had the house viewing the next morning.
A great evening was had by all, I got dropped off at home a little wobbly, and very tired.

And then fast forward to 6am when I got a 2 messages from friends in South Africa, one in Cape Town and one on Jo'berg. Well that was the end of my lie in. After a phone conversation with Cape Town, I got up and ready to go and 2nd view the house.

So eldest sister came too, and she thought much the same as me.
Perfect for me, work to be done, ( as could be seen better now that it is empty), and just what I am looking for.
So just hoping for a quick sale here, which hasn't been helped by the idiots who smashed the For Sale sign on Friday night and then completely destroyed it on Saturday!

Quick trip to town, coffee with the sister and then home to go back to bed for an hour.........only to have a call from Jo'berg!
Obviously I was not meant to have extra sleep.

And then there was cricket and all fanfare to announce the return of the cheats.
Yes Smith and Warner are back, apparently welcomed with open arms.
Good luck to them, they are not going to have it easy when they play I guess.

South Africa won the One Day series 5-0, albeit in the last game, byDuckworth Lewis.

And so back to today, its dry and the sun is up.
I have a lot to do at work this morning and then things to do after work, its all set to be a busy work, especially on the home front.

Have a great day.

Don't let anyone dull your sparkle.

Saturday 16 March 2019

wash out!

And I don't mean hanging the washing out either, at this rate it will be wetter than when it came out of the machine!
its absolutely pouring own, the bottom of the drive is flooded ( due to the drains never being cleared ),  I nearly have a moat around the chateau!
I have to go to town and I do not feel like it at all.

sad news for me in the cricket world is that JP Duminy will retire  form ODI's after the world cup.
I am fearing the 'R' word in relation to Dale and Faf very much. Its too much for a lady to comprehend on a wet Saturday morning.

as it is raining and the day looks to be a bit of a horrible one, I think that cooking, cleaning and washing can wait until tomorrow and I will get on with knitting and 'faffing' around with crafty things. Then get myself 'dolled' up to go out tonight.
as it is looking to be a late one it will really be a blog rest day tomorrow.

Cricket in NZ was cancelled yesterday after the terrible events. Thoughts are with everyone in the peaceful nation and especially my friends there.

Sometimes it makes you wonder!

And now I will stop wondering and start wandering, as I  head off out into the cold and rain.

And as for the 2 viewings....well both had what I wanted, but one was very tired and needed a huge amount of work, the other was newly renovated, BUT, had a teeny tiny kitchen and no dishwasher space, there are some things that I cannot compromise on.

So back for a second viewing tomorrow on Tuesdays house.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Friday 15 March 2019

Finally its Fry Up Day

Thank flip its Fry up day!

I can honestly say that I am more than glad that it is here.

I have two house viewings this afternoon, and then I am going home to start my weekend of doing ............................absolutely nothing................well I might be doing some knitting, and washing, and cleaning. Yep I am guessing that it is going to be a busy one!

Cricket world is quiet at the moment apart from the 'England are going to win the World Cup stuff.
I would like to say I agree, but I'm not too sure.

weather is strange, high winds through the night and cold and sunny during the day, although as I look out it is now raining!

Work is the same as normal, and trying to raise moral is getting harder all the time.
I am keeping this very short and heading off to see Big Al.

Have a great day.

Thursday 14 March 2019

Weekend approaches

We are very close to the weekend and it cannot come quickly enough, three more house viewings to look forward to, and a weekend of peace and laziness before we start the cricket season off next weekend with the AGM.

Its all getting very close and very exciting, those of us in #weareteamben  cannot  wait.

In other cricket Australia and South Africa both won their matches and so the bookies will be busy in the run up to the World Cup.
Which is another thing to get a little bit excited about.
Way back in 1999, I watched every match with the Momma, as I was laid up in bed with a fractured coccyx and various other injuries having been knocked over.
Momma came to look after me and what a time we had watching the cricket.

However there are still a few weeks to go until the seasons start properly and my boys are taking the opportunity of hitting a few balls in South Africa.

Its all go in the preparations.

And now I must prepare to face the howling wind and head off to the office.
We have a full contingent today and lots of work to get done, so I guess I had better head out of the door.

have  a good one.

Wednesday 13 March 2019

Midweek

Talk about tired!!! I have had the worst nights sleep, due to high winds whipping round the chateau, even the birds have had the sense to stay in bed this morning.

No cold windy weather  for Yorkshire and Notts as they are having a jolly in South Africa ahead of the new season.
Although they had some rain which will make them feel more at home.

More changes to the format of cricket is proposed as it is looking as if there will now be a clock at the end of the over to help put an end to slow over rates in test matches, imagine the excitement!

Yesterday marked a year since we are Yorkshire lost our beloved Cally, it is still sad to think that we will never hear his voice again. However he will always be remembered to us all. I had a chuckle about at some of his great stories.
What a great man.

I went to view a house last night and it appeared that the agency had not booked this with the owner, I got to see it, and it is on the list of maybes, has a garden without any lawns so that is a huge hit. Two more to see this week, one of which, if it lives up to the blurb about it might be just perfect.

Hopefully today will be the same, although I doubt it!
I am now off to face the gale force winds and what ever has blown onto my desk.

Have a great day.

Tuesday 12 March 2019

Its beginning to look.....

.......a lot like early season cricket weather.

After having fabulous temperatures a couple of weeks ago, yesterday morning we had a cover of snow, then rain, then beautiful sunshine, with wind that was so cold you felt as if your ears would fall off, so all in all its getting me ready for the start of the season.

and talking the start of the season, news that the ECB have allowed us to have Joe Root back for the first 2 CC matches of the season. They have also let Stuart Broad go back to Notts, the publicity surrounding this makes it look like a heavey weight title match.
Its great that Joe is back, but I think that the team should be in the spotlight after all they are the ones that will be carrying our hopes for the rest of the season.

Trevor Bayliss has commented that the Jofra Archer ;threat' has made the bowlers up their game.
Hmmmm is that really the way to get the best out of your team?
\well we will see in the upcoming months.

I am going to view another house tonight, it has some of the elements of what, so fingers crossed it has potential for the rest.

And with that I am keeping this short as I do have a lot to do today and its going to be very busy.

Have a great Tuesday and keep warm where ever you are.

Monday 11 March 2019

here we are again

It's Monday and it has tried to snow over night. Not a great sight when you open the blinds, I must say though that the howling wind and the cold all managed to make for a disturbed night, which I usually call 'Sunday night syndrome'.
Never mind, another week starts.

The weekend has been productive in a 'not leave the house ' type of way, the cold weather ( who would believe that 2 weekends ago I was sitting in the garden sunbathing)  made it more of a 'lying on the sofa ' kind of weekend.
The usual, washing, cooking and cleaning happened, as well as watching cricket ( SA), sorting out early cricket fixtures and checking emails.

England beat the West Inides in the T20, although I have to say I didn't watch this as I was sorting out things for today.

One thing I am sure of is that come the World Cup we are not really going to be writing off  the West Indies

Kane Williamson the teeny tiny sometime temporary Tyke, has been scanned for a shoulder injury.
Worrying times for New Zealia.

Yorkshire are currently in South Africa, however they unveiled their #onerose video last night and I have to say between, goosebumps and tears it was outstanding.
Whether done in house or otherwise, it really was a rally cry to fans to get behind the team.

And now I have to get behind the wheel of the car and  head to the office.

Its a job and it pays the mortgage,so best get on with it.
Have a great start to the week.

Saturday 9 March 2019

It's raining , it's pouring

And these will be the order of the day today I think!

I am up and dressed and about to set off on another house viewing having seen 2 yesterday, one could be moved straight into and the other needed work. Both were in the 'new' area of the town, today I am looking in the old town where I currently live.

Exciting times!

And not just on the house front.

The secret stuff is not so secret now and I want to say a huge thank you to my lovely friends who have helped me on this journey.
Roll on the season is all I can say.

Shock news that Ramps has been dropped as batting coach by England, and with the Ashes round the corner too!.

Didn't see that coming!

OH MY GOD!!!!

I have just looked out of the window and it is snowing!!!!!

I  certainly did not see that coming!!!!!

Well I suppose I did with the said cricket season just around the corner!!!!

I think that I will have to cut this short as I have lots to do  and now there is snow!

Have a great day where ever you are and keep warm and safe.

Happy Saturday

Friday 8 March 2019

Half day Fry up day

Oh thank goodness it is Fry Up Day, I'm shattered, however no peace for the wicked as I head off to view 2 houses after work, before going back to the Chateau to change and head out for dinner.

I think that I may be having a lay in tomorrow!

Good plan, probably won't happen.

So lets see what is happening in cricket.

Well now, David Willey the sometime Tyke, has been discussing Jofra Archer's fast track to the England team, he seems to think that it will disturb the combination of the team.
More like ( as I said the other day) really started to upset the apple cart.
Yes their will be plenty of 'i's' in team shortly as everyone will have a view on the inclusion....................especially if it means their exclusion.
Goodness me what is the world coming to if Willey ( to name just one) had to return to  the County he was so desperate to 'play for' ( to be nearer his then girlfriend some cynics might say).
Every man for himself now I think.

News from Yorkshire that they will not be appointing an overseas player before the start of the season, with Pillans and Olivier on side we are looking strong.

I am really excited for the start of the season, and will be seeing more of all the squads playing this season.

Always good to show support for the upcoming players.

Well its time to head off to see 'Big Al' and put the breakfast order. The list is getting shorter.

Have a great day, its nearly the weekend.

Thursday 7 March 2019

A new era?

And so we ( that is Yorkshire) are entering into a new era.
We have a new stand, which as I have not yet inspected, appears to be a fabulous structure, although a full report should hopefully be available soon ( i.e how much baggage space around the chairs, toilet facilities with good lighting over mirrors, you know, the important things).

We are moving onwards with the team and are looking to have a fine season.

I   however fear that we may be stuck in a rut in other areas.

What is being part of a club all about?, is it about wearing a blazer and tie in club colours, although I admit I am a sucker for a man in a Yorkshire tie.
No I believe that it is not what you wear but what is in your heart.

And currently my heart is not beating as fast as it should be, mainly as  I am concerned that we may be sliding backwards instead of  racing forwards.

Our current chairman stepped in last year after the resignation of our former chairman., and appears to be sticking around for another year.
Our former Chairman was a real people person and was Yorkshire to the core, he was seen around the ground stopping to talk to anyone wanting a chat, he interacted on social media, which is really the way things are done today.
Honestly, hold your hands up if you have had any kind of interaction with our current chairman?

we are in a minority amongst the counties, of Board members who are not on any social media platform.

Is this the way forward? well honestly none of you would be reading this if Twitter was not around! so I would say yes.

How many of you would know our current Chairman in the street in his 'civvies'?

Not a lot I would say.

And so this is why I am a little worried.

We need to move with the times and have full access to a person who holds our club in his hands.

You may not agree, but this is my personal view.

My plea to the Yorkshire board is move forward, get out of the rut, be more personable and make members feel secure with the decisions you are making on behalf of the club.

And with that I am off.

Wednesday 6 March 2019

Mid week

Midweek and now on the run down to the weekend.

it was super busy last night  at the Chateau as I was on the phone chatting to the the lovely Paul, about all things to do with my secret stuff.

Due to a flurry of request to view the chateau, I ran the hoover over, flicked a duster round and prepared for who ever they are bringing through the door.

I also checked out some properties on't interweb, and have now got some viewings set up.
Surprisingly I am struggling to view a house with only 2 bedrooms so at the moment it looks as if I may once again have a dressing room!(but not an office).

I didn't even manage to watch the cricket, which we apparently won, I say apparently as I heard it briefly on the news this morning but have not had time to read the cricket news online.
Right just checked it and Jonny B hit 68 and got MOM.

The  hype surrounding Jofra Archer continues, its to be hoped that he can live up to it.

Also thanks to the friend who messaged me last night asking how I was, I know you read the blog, it meant a lot, its been a tough start to the year but it can only get better.

Its going to be a busy day, there are  meetings with the regional water board, so I am keeping this short and  have to head off.

Have a great Wednesday.

Tuesday 5 March 2019

Making strides

So its Tuesday and already I am making headway with my other stuff, its a shame I cannot work the same magic in the world of water.

There is  flurry of interest in the Chateau, meaning that I have to have a search again for Residencia Robinson, so off to view a couple at the weekend.
I have to say that the 2nd worst agents in Ladylaineyville are really as bad as I thought. After explaining I gave them a key so they could do viewings, due  to my working hours, they arranged for ME to do one at 5.45pm ( without consulting me)
Well the chuffing chance of me being anywhere even remotely close to the Chateau at 5.45pm is about as likely as my hydrangeas being fed with rocking horse poo!
Seriously how hard is it to get people to listen and retain information?
Likewise she arranged for me to see a house in Ladylaineyville at 5.15pm Thursday after I repeated the above..
I rest my case!

In the world of cricket I see that Morne Morkel *faints and then comes round* has  signed to return to Surrey again this season.
Well we have Olivier and Pillens, and I am happy with that!!

Morkel, who is  now living in Australia could qualify as a local player for BBL20-21 ( yes they are talking about that already), he has said that it is now his home.

And lots of talk in Australia still about Aaron Finch and his form.
I'm not sure why I keep reading it, its a bit boring. Hes not playing well, give him a break and let him get his head together.

I realise that for quite a while now the blogs have been a bit on the miserable side with the work front.
I wish I could say that it is getting better, sadly its not, so I plod on.
However I am going to refrain from boring you with the ups and downs of turbidity.

Its nearly the cricket season and just over 2 weeks to the AGM!!!!

I think that I must be the only person to get really excited about the AGM.

Monday 4 March 2019

Monday again

Well here we are again at Monday and I am exhausted due to what I have now come to call 'Sunday night syndrome'.
I am tired,I go to bed and then lie awake until a couple of hours before  getting up time, when I fall into a deep sleep. I now am trying to drag myself out of bed!
However I think that I  may be on the road to solving it, as I was lying awake in the wee small hours I decided to get up and do something constructive, so I set up an appointment to go back for some hypnotherapy. I did it last year and it was very beneficial. I will be hopefully in a more relaxed state at the end of the week.

Yesterday was a very relaxed day, I called in on my chum Chris who was celebrating her birthday, then went out to catch up with more chums and have a spot of lunch, before back home to catch up on 'Greys Anatomy'.

And then there was cricket............yes indeed.

WOW!!!!  South Africa winning the ODI by 8 wickets with Faf not out on 112.
Yep as I said last week, do not underestimate them.

It looks as if England are going to give Jofra Archer a try out before the World Cup and  as this will upset the apple cart slightly it should make for interesting watching, how hard will places be fought for?

I see that in Australia there is much talk about the form of Aaron Finch. Even talk of whether to drop him now or in the middle world cup. None of which will do Finch any good.
Maybe he does need a break away from the cricket roller coaster, but I guess you could say this for any International player.

With the full madness that is the IPL rapidly approaching, I wonder how this will affect International players, and I'm not talking in the bank balance department.

All the talk about players, playing too much cricket and being tired on tour etc, seems to go out of the window when there is big money on offer. Franchise cricket has a lot to answer for.

I am off now to the wacky world of waste water, I wonder what this week holds for us all.

I know for sure that the commute home will not have improved any.

Oh well off we go, have a good day.

Sunday 3 March 2019

friends

Well its Sunday and  I'm here blogging instead of having a day of rest, well I had that yesterday, so here I am.
Washing is done and dried ( yesterday) lunches are made for the week ( yesterday) and today will be a real rest day.

The past few days, have shown me what wonderful friends I have, Thursday saw me out with Grandad John, and Friday/ Saturday brought up more fabulous friends, who have given me huge encouragement and help  with  my secret stuff.
And the secret stuff, is remaining firmly that, those who know, know because I trust them implicitly.

Yesterday also saw a visit from Carole and Philip ( fabulous friends)and an afternoon of laughs. It was just what I needed, laughter really is the best medicine.

I  think myself very lucky to have some of the most wonderful friends, never underestimate the power of friendship.

I watched the cricket until it became too painful. I'm so not sure why we lack consistency, I'm hoping that  we improve.
I certainly don't want to hear ' we have to learn from this', ' we will learn from our mistakes' or the newest one, 'We didn't adapt'.

Today will mainly be about  watching South Africa in ODI action, and doing secret stuff.

Wishing  you all a very happy and peaceful Sunday,

Friday 1 March 2019

end of the working week

So its Friday and its the end of the working week, its also the start of good things.

Yesterday I headed of to do secret stuff with my partner in crime Grandad John, and what an afternoon we had.
We laughed and chatted and mingled and had a thoroughly enjoyable time, the only thing that we didn't do was drink  the free gin and beer, which was due to the fact that we were both driving!

I want to say a huge thank you to John for coming with me, it was very much appreciated.

And so now I take on my next challenge.

The team that no one rated a couple of years ago, Afghanistan, have once again made their claim as they beat Ireland in an ODI opener.

I think that they are a team  to watch.

And I am keeping this short today as I have lots to do.
And tomorrow I am having visitors.

Now that is something that I am really looking forward to it.

Happy Friday I'm off to see big Al

Oh and I have another resignation on my desk.................
