Happy Birthday |
Today would have been the birthday of her Serene Highness and also the birthday of Auntie Rt Hon Robbo Snr. They were sisters-in-law and shared a birthday! So at lunchtime I am going to take a couple of bunches of snowdrops to the garden of rememerance for them both. The snowdrops are from the extensive grounds of Tykes Towers and I know that her Serene Highness planted them. They are always a sign that spring is on the way.
England will be hoping that they are on a roll in NZ. After taking two late wickets , they took control on the second day of the warm up match.. New Zealand declared on 341-7 and England are currently 256-9. Prior being the highest run maker at the moment in the second innings. KP 8. Bell 38, Compton 1 !!! ( that's an opening batsman) Root 17 well you can see that there are no real 'highlights' from this innings.
Surrey CEO Richard Gould has stated shock at the extent of Tom Maynard's drug taking. They wished that they had known earlier and been able to do something. I am keeping very quiet on this sensitive issue as my opinions are my own. However drugs and sports will always go hand in hand whether recreational drugs or performance enhancing. I DO NOT condone this is any way. Money 'fame', all seem to go hand in hand with this. NOT always but usually..
I will now put a close on this issue, as it appears that everyone is covering their own backs. However the person who took the drugs is the only one who should or would have had to answer for their actions. And very sadly he can't.
NO, NO,NO I cannot believe it, after throwing money at Durham CCC to get them to change the name of the Riverside to The Emirates Durham Idiots Cricket Ground ( or something similar), they have now done the same at Old Trafford. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!! EMIRATES OLD TRAFFORD! is nothing sacred what next THE EMIRATES LORDS perhaps. Why oh why? yes I know why. MONEY it is the root of all evil ( see previous paragraph).
NORTH EAST WEATHER WATCH
Just peeped out of the curtains and apart from being dark, it is dry and by all accounts it is going to be dry all day. There may be sunshine, so any washing could get dried again today. Although it is not so cold I am reverting back to trousers today for the office as there is a draught under my desk. I have no idea where it is coming from but after wearing a skirt for the last two days, I know where it was going to!!!!
Also a big 'Happy St David's Day' to any Welsh readers. have a wonderful day today and wear your daffodil with pride.
Got to dash, super swanky Lady Lainey office beckons!
