New week beckoning

Welcome to Monday, and after a sort of relaxing weekend its back to the full on frenzy in the land of waste water.

I have been studying for a lot of the weekend which was good and I'm onto my first exam later this month.

It was great to watch the T20 World cup qualifiers final

Netherlands v Papua New Guinea, what a joy to watch. Cricket played in the right spirit.
Netherlands won which made my day (And I'm sure all cricket fans in Holland).
Also set me thinking of travelling over next year to watch some cricket. Beats a canal trip in Amsterdam.

England lost to New Zealand in the latest T20  and also lost Joe Denly to ankle ligament damage.
Injuries already.

Well with that it's off to start another week.
O &Ms to finish, more studying (which I am enjoying immensely). 2 physio sessions  and some chutney making.

Have a great week.

new beginnings

So today is the first day that the blog is not going out on Twitter as I am taking an extended break  from this form of social media for the time being.

I am concentrating on me for a change, something that I have found that I have been doing less and less over the last few years.

I have a lot of work still to do with the physio to get myself back to some sort of normality and I am also starting my course to train as a facial yoga teacher.
This is something that I have wanted to do for quite a while but never seemed to have the time.

Well now is the time.

I have been still been following the T20 World Cup qualifiers and was delighted to see The Netherlands go through.
The absolute joy on their faces was priceless.

Its been refreshing to see cricket played in the true spirit.

Life in The Wickets continues at a much more relaxed pace ( manly as I cannot dash around due to injury).

after illness and injury I have not really had a chance to really enjoy my new home and this is something that I intend to start doing, ( more so now that I have sorted out a cleaner)

I am continuing to get the house how I want it. I've done it much slower than normal for once, and still have colour/wallpaper choices to decide on.

As you will know I spend a lot of time Charity shopping and bargain hunting.
this is for various reasons.

1. I'm from Yorkshire

2. I prefer to rehome something than see it go to landfill

3. I'm a dab hand at upcycling

4. I love a bargain

The other rule that I now have is that for every one thing that comes into The Wickets, something must go to the charity shop.
So there is always a good deal of swapping around going on.

And with that I will end today.

I am keeping cricket news to a minimum for the time being, as I am struggling with all things English/Yorkshire cricket.

Have a great Thursday if you have found me.

How did we get here?

This was originally written and posted in March 2017, I think that we can now change that date to 2022

2030

‘What was the County Championship Dad?’

asked the inquisitive little boy

‘Ah my son, it were right grand

Four days of total joy,

Watching the lads doing there stuff

Fast bowlers on full deploy.

‘What happened to the County Championship Dad?’

The little boy asked again,

‘Ah my son, back in 2020,

We knew it was under strain

And then finally it was put  to rest

As it had little financial gain,’

‘Was it like T20 Dad?

All dancing girls and beer,

Free Tshirts and furry mascots

And encouragement to cheer

With plastics things to bang together

So that no one else can hear?’

‘No my son, not at all like that,

This was a proper day out,

With flask and blanket  and sandwiches

Friends to meet round about,

No better way to spend 4 days

That is with out a doubt.’

‘So will the County Championship ever return’

The little boy asked in hope,

‘No my son, never to return

It was on a slippery slope,

Sadly  you’ll never know the joy

Of a  wander over the boundary rope’

Cricket Tuesday

Ah its Tuesday and nearly time to head off to the office, more fun and games today!

Games are also on the cards for The Netherlands as they are in action against The UAE today which starts at 10am and which I will be keeping a beady eye on.

I reoranged my hair last night just   for the occasion.

I have enjoyed this tournament so much, countries playing cricket for recognition of their countries is refreshing to watch, rather than for self promotion and bragging rights.

I was also reading about Asil Rashid and his shoulder injury, I think that he should have seen my physio, she is working wonders on me, slowly but surely. I am now walking at a fairly normal pace ( once I stand up and get going), and hope to be at pilates classes soon. She has recommended this to strengthen my core and hence give me more support.

I fear that the days of having a solid core may be gone, but its worth a try.

And finally

Andrew Gale is to be assistant coach to the Northern franchise team

There are no more  words....

Monday 28 October 2019

Another week begins

And another week begins.

It's a busy  one which includes 2 physio appointments, hydrotherapy session, meeting a potential cleaner and making more green tomato chutney.

Wow! It's all rock n roll at The Wickets

I need to get myself fully fit as hopefully off to Barcelona for my birthday weekend.
Apparently things will be put in place this weekend depending on what the physio says.
(I'm being super careful as  I cannot go through all that again).
The alternative plan is cottage in Derbyshire for 2 nights.
I think I'll be upping the exercises!!

Back to today, well it is not only Monday it is the 21st birthday of Ben. His club in Australia  put on a party for him on Saturday  and both him and Ella look to have settled in really well.

What a great time for them.

In cricket, the T20 World cup qualifiers is starting to take over my life.
I was cheering on The Netherlands yesterday in a great win against Scotland, sadly though they did not automatically go through that pleasure went to Papua New guinea.

The play offs are next and I'll be backing orange.

They also have the player with the best head of hair too.

This whole tournament has been outstanding. Even though it's played in a ridiculously large stadium

And now I'm heading to the office.

Another week begins so let's get it underway

Happy Monday

Friday 25 October 2019

Hello, its a late one

Oh my dog, I was struggling this morning, firstly to wake up and secondly to get out of bed, imagine a turtle laid on its back trying to right itself and you get the picture!!

Mainly due to hours in the van, travelling and  then sleeping in a not too comfy bed for 2 nights.

I am however back in the office now and waiting for Big Al to deliver the breakfast.

Well now,I am sad to hear that teeny tiny former Tyke Kane Williamson is out of the 5 match T20 series with a hip injury, well mate I can give you the number of my physio, she is outstanding.
And seriously I do know what hip. knee and ankle pain is now.

England's T20 team arrived and seem to be in good voice about the up coming series.

I have been enjoying the world T20 qualifiers which have been on Sky  most evenings, I love to watch the up coming nations.
I'm looking forward to more of this at the weekend.

Well it is short and late today.

I am hoping to get some proper rest at the weekend as well as getting in plenty of  walking which I have to get plenty of, a well as doing a series of 3 exercises 3 times a day.

Have a great weekend.

Thursday 24 October 2019

home ward bound

So by the time most of you read this I should be homeward bound and hopefully tonight will get a good night sleep in my own bed.

Yesterday was less than fruitful meeting in the rented office, and by the time we broke for lunch it was obvious that the little problems were nothing to do with us and the problem of the site owners.

So 2 days wasted, but at least I will get a flyer and be home at a reasonable time today.

I have been having a scan of cricket pages and although their are lots of murmurings about Yorkshire signing a raft of players not one has been announce. Sadly though it
does seem as if I am going to be very disappointed in the near future.

The Parliamentary commission looking into the whole ECB/100 fiasco as something that I watched on and off  yesterday.
I'm left wondering when I , as  Yorkshire member  was asked to vote on it as old Gravsey  said we were.

Slippery as an eel that one.

Down under  it's brilliant to see that the team that Ben is playing for are holding a party for him to celebrate his 21st this weekend.
How lovely.

Right off to get some Scran.

Wednesday 23 October 2019

Midweek

Well here we are 'darn sarf' and busy busy, yesterday was a long old day with the added joy that when I got to site, due to an 'incident, we were not allowed on site.
So we decamped to the hotel and I managed to get another hours sleep, before we had a meeting in the local pub because there was nowhere else to go.

We are not sure if we will be allowed back on site so have managed to hire some office space to work from this morning.

I am this morning feeling the results of physio and it's not pleasant.
However non pain no gain.

There is absolutely no cricket news apart from repeated stories from The Abomination which I'm not even looking at.
In other news my sponsored player at Farsley was on the subs bench last night.
They were away to Kidderminster and sadly lost.
Onwards and upwards lads.

With that I'm off to take my painkillers and try to mobilise myself.

Tuesday 22 October 2019

Tuesday travelling

Its going to be a long day, as I have been on the go since 4am.

I'm off to sort out a teeny prob at the new site 'darn sarf' and I guess that the teeny prob may result in me being there most of the week! Booooo!!!!
First though I have managed to wangle a 9am physio appointment  so I will be getting seen before I head off.
I am going to the hydrotherapy pool on Thursday evening now and hopefully that will set me in good stead for the weekend.

So yesterday was mainly about The 100, which no matter how you jazz it up, its not really cricket.

The only good thing to come out of this for Yorkshire is that with 6 players (  3 full time and 3 England) on the Franchise bandwagon, it means that we can finally see what the board have been banging on about for years.............the youngsters coming through.

The past couple of weeks , as you will know that I have been very sympathetic in regards to things at Sussex, so imagine yesterday when I saw that they have 11 players in the circus.
Dizzy thinks he is going to have to polish off his bowling boots,( I'd pay to see him bowl again ), and  this is a perfect opportunity for their youngsters to get a go.

It also highlights the talents that Diz has down on the south coast.

I think from the tweets I read from him yesterday he is being very stoic.

As we know this abomination is not going to go away, so my theory is that I will just ignore it, ( I won't be going to watch it anyway).

Well time to head to the office to make sure I have everything I need. Then physio and being chauffeured to site (meaning I can get some sleep).

Have a great Tuesday.
I may/may not be here tomorrow it will depend on work schedule.

Monday 21 October 2019

Hello friends.

Hello friends.

It's Monday and I am feeling refreshed after a wonderful weekend.

It was a weekend of much laughter as Carole and Philip came to visit.
We had a great time at Locomotion in Shildon exploring the history of the railway.
As Shildon was central in the whole story of the  railway, this museum is well worth a visit.
Also refreshing to  find a gift shop that was not over priced.

If you are ever in the area it's well worth a visit.

I actually hadn't realised what a train geek I was until I saw the APT and knew my uncle had been on it's maiden run. Then realised I actually knew quite a lot about  trains and the work done at Shildon.
As my family all played cricket for Shildon BR I think that may explain a lot.

Yesterday was a chilled out and relaxed day as I took my painkillers and gave my ankle knee and hips a rest.
And before I knew It, It was 7pm and the draft for the 100.
After listening to some of the worst commentating, I turned it off.
Checking the cricket news this morning I'm very disappointed in some players for putting money over County.

The Northern franchise having the likes of Ben Stokes and Aaron Finch is enough to seal the no watch deal for me.

Not that any of it appeals to me.

Well time to get the week started. A couple of days 'darn sarf ' and also physio and hydrotherapy.

Wow I know how to have fun !!!

Friday 18 October 2019

Last push

Please let it be champagne time soon although in truth I'm more up for ibuprofen and an ice pack.
Yep in true Lainey style I'm now trying to sort out an inflamed Achilles tendon. To be honest if I was a horse I'd have been glue long since.
The foot injury resulted in me not walking properly and causing the tendon problem and swollen knee and painful hips.
It's been agony all week and I got into the physio  last night.
Well I can tell you deep massage of the tendon was unpleasant. Ultra sound massage was nice and I'll be back next Tuesday for the same again.

I'm a wreck!

It's been a rough few months and I just want to feel better in myself.

Sadly cricket news is so low on the ground that my aches and pains are taking centre stage.
I'm like the Reece Topley of blogging.

England have drafted in Jeetan Patel for specific bowling.

Mark Nicholas CEO (or something equally pompous only befitting a Bradfield chap) has been whittering on about how The Southern Softies (or whatever they are called) will be drawing in Hampshire and Sussex talent for The 100.
Do Hampshire and Sussex know this?

Not much from the Northern Turbo booster ejecter seats (or whatever they are called) obviously the unveiling on Sunday is their big event.

However the most important cricket news today is that it is the birthday  of TLJL.
Although he  is no longer a white rose he is still a top lad.
Happy Birthday Jack.

Well time to trot to the limo (walk very slowly and carefully) and start the last day in the office.

Happy Friday

Thursday 17 October 2019

Thursday round up

So it's Thursday and I missed yesterday due to a 4am start. Hotel in back of beyond with no Wi-Fi I think you get the picture.
It was a long old day and today is looking the same.

So crickety news.

Well after the Topley episode, Ravi Bopara is heading down to Sussex.

Speculation us mounting that Yorkshire are about to sign Dawid Malan.
Not a signing that I'm keen on but one that most are excited about.
I'll give it until June before they start on him.
The Gale out brigade are still calling for s new coach.
Sadly that doesn't look likely yet.

I'll wait to be fed BS  (again) at the AGM.

And before anyone thinks I'm anti Yorkshire I'm Not!.
Ive listened for the past few years to 'bringing through from within. I'm really still waiting to see that happen fully. Not just intermittent playing.

I think that all the talk needs to be backed up.

Oh well off I go in a little rant.

Not a good way to start Thursday.

Hope you all have a good one.

Tuesday 15 October 2019

extended weekend

Well it may seem as if I have had an extended weekend, but the laptop was still playing up and yesterday lunchtime I returned it to the shop, they offered to fix it, I said no,this would be the second time in as many weeks and as it is less than 6 months old, I wanted a replacement.

Well obviously they didn't have a replacement to let me have, so I got my money back and am now starting again.
I have to say that they were quick to try to sell me one that was nearly twice the price of the one that I had, and of course I was going to spend more money!

No I am hopefully going to be firing up the trusty old tablet and wait until I see a laptop that I really want.

The weekend came and went too quickly.

I auctioned off one of my signed Yorkshire shirts, and £300 was raised for NE Centurions, who work out in India.

I've been offered the chance to go at out to India at Xmas, which in theory is fabulous but of course the Potassium levels are the main problem, any sickness, etc lowers my levels ( and they aren't where they should be to start with) and as Doc said , being ill in Europe is slightly different from being ill in India.

And I am  in agreement.

Ben and Tom were both in action for their clubs down under at the weekend.

Ben scored 23 and messaged to say that both him and Ella are settling in to their life in Australia and having a great time.

Tom meanwhile had a strange over when bowling which was made up of 11 balls!
He had better not have his sights on a place in The 100!!!!!

The whole Topley/Sussex/Surrey episode, does not sit well with me, I have lots of things to say about it, but won't.
I will just watch and wait.

And with that I am off 'darn'sarf' for a couple of days.

Have a great day.

Friday 11 October 2019

Finally Friday

Well it is finally Friday and I am glad that my right hand girl is back next week, as I have been covering her work, and believe me if one more stupid office boy comes to tell me there are no teabags, milk, sugar, coffee, when there is a Morrison's right in front of the office, I swear that  I may severely injure someone.

I realise now the rubbish she puts up with on a daily basis ( and not mine I hasten to add).

She does all the wages, accounts, cars van, office management duties, alot of admin for me, as well as  carrying reams of paper from the upstairs stores as office boys 'don't know where it is kept'.

Well believe me they do now as I have not only shown them  and I have made them carry it downstairs. cries of 'oh I have  bad back, leg, arm, etc' were not listened too as I realise that these lot have been mollycoddled for too long.

And as a result I am making them order their own breakfasts this morning, that should be interesting at 10am!!!

As you can tell I am tired and cranky after a very testing week.

I bet that Sussex are a bit cranky after it was announced that Reece Topley would be leaving them despite being offered a long contract.
I hope this is because he has decided that cricket is not for him and not that he used Sussex to get some exposure and is moving to another county.

They are a very small club with no revenue from Tests etc, I do feel for them.

And with that this tiny tome is at an end and I am off to finish the working week.

See you on Monday

Thursday 10 October 2019

Tired old Thursday

Oh its nearly the end of the week, and I am super tired this morning after a jaunt down to Royston and back.
At least over the coming weeks I will be able to stay over. Office is set and the cottages and apartment have been inspected and are better than expected.
So all set for the run up to Christmas.

Which is a word that I tend to whisper in the office as although I have booked hols, know from experience that anything could happen.
I really hope that I get away for the Xmas period, as I need to totally tune out from the land of waste water, especially after being at the coal face for the next couple of months

I really am sure that there has to be a better way to earn a crust, I say this all the time, but I am still here!

When I got home on Tuesday evening there was a fabulous surprise waiting for me ( no not Sean Bean, Faf du Plessis or Dale Steyn sadly),I had signed shirts from both Ben and Tom, I will be keeping those very safe, really lovely surprise.

In crickety news, its good to see that Dizzy our former coach has extended his contract with Sussex he has been making such a difference at the club and I am sure there is more to come.
He has put a lot into English cricket and I for one applaud that.

I am now off to see what is on my desk.

Have a good day

Wednesday 9 October 2019

Wow Wednesday already

Well its Wednesday already and I am trying to sort out something to do at the weekend ( apart from housework and washing)
It would, on Saturday have been my 17th Wedding anniversary, not something that I normally think about ( especially with happy memories). However I do remember the people who attended my wedding and are now no longer with us.
Always sad, but life goes on.

In the mean time I am cracking on at work and trying to get things sorted for this quarter, easier said than done, and yesterday was spent mainly booking houses and apartments from now until New Year for those of us who are going to be up and down country.
As my right hand woman is currently on a Greek Island quite
rightly doing absolutely nothing, I was in charge of the decision on the accommodation. Well luckily we have a couple of nice cottages and a lovely apartment to use so that should make the time away easier.

In crickety news, there is much chatter about Chris Silverwood taking over the reigns of the England team.

Also some renewals of contract as Richard Levi has signed for another year at Northants. #bigunit

Marchant de Lange has signed for another two years with Glamorgan

Essex  have re signed 4 of their players which isn't surprising considering the season that they have had.

As a Yorkie, I am waiting for any hints of player news. Although there is always the old ' we are bringing through the ranks'.

And with that I am out the door and off 'darn sarf' to set up an office on site.

I may/may not be here Thursday it will depend on how tired I am.

Have a great day, we are  close to the weekend now.

Tuesday 8 October 2019

Another day

Well both my boys made their debuts for their Australian clubs at the weekend and didn't do too shabbily, Ben hit 45,  nearly taking out the videographer with a 6!

Also great to see them out and about and finding their feet in their new lives.
Its a wonderful and exciting time for them.

Yesterday was a rough day as the car was kept in the garage over the weekend, and I had to get to work by other means, turns out train and taxi were cheaper than 4 buses to Lady Lainey workville.

Not a great advert for local bus travel.

I would also just like to say ( to my trolls) that yesterdays blog was not to 'big up' me at all, I wanted to highlight that a little bit of support to young sportsmen ( and woman) can go a long way.

Gary, I think that you would agree with me on that one!

I'm not some 'do gooder' or 'attention grabber' ( believe me I don't have to sponsor players to grab attention,  I just re orange my hair!), I'm just a hardworking cricket lover, who wanted to try to help someone on their way in their career in what ever little way I could. Like I said, I  put my hard earned  money where my mouth is, maybe the smart mouths who like to diss me should do that and be constructive instead of destructive!

And so to crickety news if there is any.

Well firstly I've already sorted out some extra cricket watching next season and will definately be cheering on Dave and the lads at some point season 2020.

Well now as we were all gearing up for a win by Gary Kirsten, who we were led to believe was romping ahead of any others, Chris Silverwood came creeping up on the rails and took the title!
Who would have thought it?!
Not I that is for sure, I hadn't even thought he was in the race this time last week.

Great to see England in the hands of an Englishman but better still a Yorkshireman.

Well time to go. The limo is back so no train and taxi today.

Cheerio

Monday 7 October 2019

Giving some support

Last season saw me take the plunge and put my money where my mouth was,in short I sponsored a player.

I had seen Ben playing on the seconds and decided I would put myself in the ring to sponsor him.

I have to say that contrary to a lot of people commenting that it was 'his hair' that saw me backing him, I can say that it was not! although he does have better curls than me!

Ben has played in the Hudderfield league and has represented Yorkshire at Under 14's 15's and 19's level.

2018 saw him score 1099 runs with 58 dismissal behind the stumps in all academy and second team games.

I'm awaiting full 2019 figures, although he did make his 1st team debut in a 50 overs game and took his first list A catch, only to be thwarted by the weather.

A couple of months later I took on Tom Loten, a young man who dwarfs me in stature and thats something that you don't  see everyday.

Again Toms 2018 season was impressive, scoring 790 runs and taking 12 wickets in 20 Academy appearances.

2019 saw him Academy captain and debuting in both white and red ball.

I am so proud to have been a part of their year.

I have already decided to sponsor another young Yorkshire player next season to join Ben and Tom. More of that next year.

In the meantime, I have only gone and sponsored a footballer..................yes you heard correctly, I have sponsored a young footballer at Farsley Celtic FC.

Why, when I am not a football fan?

Well I now realise the benefit of putting yourself behind a young sportsman starting out in his sport and career.

it may not be something that everyone can do, but I am totally on board with it  and hope that this small bit of sponsorship can help these players to really believe in themselves.

However my thoughts on supporting young cricketers led me to thinking about the out cry against The 100.
To be  honest there is nothing that anyone can do to stop it now, but  can we do something to bolster the ranks of county cricket?
I hope that my sponsorship will help this.

Also I'm renewing my subs at the local cricket club and looking to sponsor one of their players next season.
Let's support the future players. They may just be the young ones in your local club.

Friday 4 October 2019

TGIF

Thank goodness its Friday and hopefully today the new blind will be put up in the kitchen, before I head off away for the weekend.

In  other news yesterday The 100  named some of  players  for the franchise teams.

Northern Superchargers ( what a p*** stupid name) have the pleasure of Ben Stokes Whilst Trent Rockets get Joe Root.

Jonny Bairstow is with Welsh Fire.

What an absolute farce!

England players can't play for their counties but will be allowed to rake in money from Franchises.

There seriously needs to be some changes, starting  with the pile of dead wood at the ECB.

Where can this be right???

I appreciate that the ECB will let them play so that they publicise the absolute joke of a game.

I have lost any respect I had for Root and Bairstow.

Money is the ROOT of all evil!

And then the sponsorship!!!

Seriously???

Sponsored by junk food (crisp and snacks) in a game to encourage children to watch!!
With obesity in children rising year on year!!!
Dear lord, someone has to take ownership for this complete fiasco!

In other news.......

Our CEO was speaking out after the raft of 'Gale Out' supporters tuned into the Grayson out and Pyrah out brigade.

For once I do agree with Mark Arthur saying that until we create a squad that is able to perform to the best of its ability, its hard to pass judgement on any individual coach.

How very true, but there will still be those who continue to lay into Andrew Gale.

Wowsers! what a ranty old start to the day.

best go and have a weekend away to recover.

see you Monday

Thursday 3 October 2019

Thursday musings

Another day and not a hint of any exciting cricket news.

There is lots of mumblings about the Big Bash ( which is Franchise cricket but with the correct number of balls in an over)

Abraham Benjamin ( who is now touring the world as a bat for hire)  is joining  Brisbane Heat for the competition and Alex Hales is joining Sydney Thunder.

I am sure that there will be more updates in the coming weeks.

Am I interested?

Well a lot more interested than in the 100 here, make of that what you will.

Pictures from Toms adventure down under are filtering through and the beach looks to be involved in a lot of them, good for him! I'm only a millions times envious!

I'm searching for a getaway for my birthday and am considering a long weekend at the spa I went to earlier in the year. However I have another couple of things in the pipeline, and am mulling over what to do.

I am also in limbo with The Wickets, I need to get things moving, but as the nights are drawing in  I feel less inclined to do anything when I get home from the office..................and that's usually exactly what I do, absolutely nothing.

Although tonight I have to pack my bag for the weekend, and then I will unpack and repack it tomorrow morning for good measure.

Well as there is noting more to report I will head  off to the salt mines.

Happy Thursday.

Wednesday 2 October 2019

Midweek

Well the weather has changed to positively baltic here in the North East of blighty and I for one am not enjoying it, thank goodness I am off and away at the weekend.

The weather in Australia is much better and I have seen some fab pics of Ben and Ella  who are settling in well. There was a welcome evening for them at the club which I thought was lovely. I got an invitation ( as I think  The Birds will have too), sadly a bit too far for a night out.

Well in cricket Middlesex are having a bit of moving and shaking, they are parting ways with Ollie Rayner the off spinner, I for one would like to see him wearing the White Rose.
He always looks as if he should be a fast bowler......but obviously isn't.

Dawid Malan has stepped down as captain, he is still under contract with Middlesex until 2021.
I've heard rumours and mutterings about him and Yorkshire.
My thoughts...No thanks

And The Hundred are continuing their self promotion with news that Eoin Morgan has made himself available, as well as Chris Gayle ( short form whore), Steve Smith and David Warner.
Well good luck to them. Luckily not one of those names is on my bucket list of must see's.

Ireland are to take on the West Indies in a white ball series in January next year. Good luck to the lads in green.

Going to see Ireland play in Ireland is on my bucket list of must do's .

Gary Kirsten is supposed to be in the UK to persuade the ECB that he is the man to take over from Trevor Bayliss............... I'm hoping whilst he's there he can persuede the ECB that The Hundred is a mistake.

Ah if only.

So now I am off to the saltmines were I'm preparing for a huge meeting as the two Dick Tators have completely 'ducked ' things up  and muggings here is trying to salvage something out of it all.

Bon journee

Tuesday 1 October 2019

what to do?

Well its that time now, the review is posted, overseas players have returned home and  we have a month or so of quiet before the Internationals begin again.

What is there to do now?

Well I think that I need to be  sorting out the last bits and pieces that have been lying around on the dressing room and spare room floor and bed. There is some knitting to be done a well as cake baking in preparation for Xmas.
Chutney to be made as well as some gin to be prepared with the sloes that I have picked.

I am waiting for Rhys the fit joiner to give me the final quote for the work I want doing, and hopefully get that done pretty soon.

However things seem a little bit out of sync as there is no cricket.

I suppose that the decorating can be done, but believe me you will be sick of hearing about the paint and wallpaper choices very quickly.

I have got all the news from down under to look forward to as Ben and Tom are now both in their temporary homes.
So that is something for me to look forward to.

I am also in the process of finalising a new role, part time and voluntary, but very much in keeping with what I love.
More of this as and when.

End of the week I am off away  for the weekend, so that will keep me out of mischief for a couple of days, no doubt ( and true to Lainey form) there will be some things that go slightly awry, but I've now come to the conclusion that I don't have 'normal' holidays ( these  have been related in blogs previously).

Today is also the start of the '4F plan'
As it is coming up to my birthday (like 6 ish weeks away)
I've had to decide which 4 F I go into next year as.

Fat frumpy and firty  free

Or
Fit fabulous and firty free.

I'm going for the last ........I hope.
