Monday 30 April 2018

Its Monday and its back to the salt mines.

Ah yes. back to the salt mines this morning although it was very much like it here at the Chateau this weekend.
Yesterday was busy with washing being done and actually getting it all dried on the line.
Bags and bags of things to the charity shop, which included a huge bag of books as I had a massive  book cull.

Then I had a mad fit of moving furniture around in the biggest bedroom.
By 4pm I had given up the idea of painting and taken to my bed for a lie down.

I had the radio playing through the house as I was busy it was the Surrey match and not one that I really wanted to listen to. its bad enough watching 'felt tip boy' Dernbach, but listening to them fawning over his was cringe worthy.

Well not wanting to tempt fate, but no eedjit at all yesterday or last night, although I still struggled to go to sleep.

So to  cricket,

Well lets start with Luke Fletcher, who is turning into something of a headline grabber. He took 5-27 which is a career best but also rocked Worcs before they fought back.
Fletcher is a very economical bowler at the best of time as his 8 maidens last week were testament.
Well done to him.

Yorkshire are going to have to do some batting today to salvage some pride out of their game against Somerset.
Aiming to chase down 321, we need the top order to do their stuff  today without exception.

Bad light was a problem for Hants and Essex yesterday. The champions are not having an easy start to the season.

Over at Middx, Tim Murtagh, the best mini bus driver in Scarborough., was bowling like a demon yesterday with 4-12 against Glamorgan until bad light stopped play.

it does seem that here in the north east of blighty we had the best weather for once.

Well lets see what happens today and lets hope that all the teams in the south get to play, although listening to the weather forecast it does not seem a if that is going to happen.

Well time to head off out of the door.

Have a great Monday.
