Strange things!
So yesterday dawned as any other cricket day, and ended with the hope that an occurrence in London will be a one off.
Yes indeed, who ever would have thought that a bolt from a crossbow would be the cause of a match to be abandoned!
The bolt landed between two players and the umpires immediately got everyone back into the pavilion.
Spectators were told to take cover and after reports of the Oval being in lock down, armed police carried out a controlled evacuation.
I cannot begin to think about the thoughts that were going through peoples heads.
A horrible and terrifying experience.
It was reported that this was not an act of terrorism, and luckily no one was injured.
The game ended in a draw.
As I predicted last month on the 'Scarbados scale' Essex are edging nearer to a title win after sneaking up on everyone like little ninjas.
Whilst the Notts ninjas stretched their lead at the top of Div 2 and head off to Brum today in preparation for T20 finals day tomorrow.
Today is the first day of September which means that I am on the downward slope to hibernation, can you believe after all the excitement of the start of the cricket season we are now only weeks away form the close!
That's not a happy thought for Friday! ( or any other day)
I have a lot to do today as it is half day! so I am keeping this short and hope that you all have a great day!
