The world has become a stranger place
You go to the bank with a mask on your face
Washing your hands, is a national pastime
Calling on friends can get you a fine
Remember the days before there were zooms
When you tried on clothes in changing rooms
Sitting in a café with cake and tea,
Chattering with friends so carefreely.
Life has changed so much for us all
Work from home, video call.
Essential travel is what we should do,
Can you remember the last time you flew?
Keep your distance, give some space
Daily exercise, no need to race.
No gathering with friends at anytime
Who ever thought that would be a crime?
But its not all doom and gloom
For kindness we can all make room,
Compassion, love and friendship are all in fashion,
Even if kisses and hugs are both on ration.
Its not forever, even if that's how it seems
One day we will drink wine amongst sunbeams
Follow the rules, and stay safe at home.
Have a great day thanks for reading my poem.
