Another week at the salt mine.

Here we go again it is the start of the new working week, lets hope that it is a good one.

Yesterday was very busy from early on as I made deliveries, took in a delivery for the extensive grounds of the chateau, moved things around in the extensive grounds and forgot to measure the slats on my bench!
I then toddled to the town to drop off items at the charity shop, came home empty handed for once ( huge relief as I am trying to make space) and then did a spot of work in the bathroom as well as in the office, which now has a dual purpose with the 'sofa' bed, so is actually more along the lines of a study, having just had an extra book case added too.
I am hoping that by the time it is finished ( by Friday I hope), it will  be a calm retreat.( a bit like every other room in the house is transforming into)

I  managed to catch some of the cricket  and saw Abraham Benjamin  get his century, actually saw him hit 126 not out. Shame that he deemed himself unfit for test cricket  in the middle of last season.
Australia are 41  runs ahead and 5 wickets down.

Should be interesting today.

Well The Pakistan Premier League which is held in Dubai ( that's just the tip of the iceberg) has had several low scoring matches, however  a match between Lahore Qalander and Karachi Kings finished in controversy.

Qalader set 168 to win, the final over saw Sohail Akhtar score 12 from  first three balls, then with 3 runs needed off the last ball, he was caught out. This was then deemed a no ball and awarded one run.
The batsmen had crossed before the catch  and with the awarded one run from the no ball, it seemed that Qalanders needed one run to win.
However the Umpires said that the no ball wasn't given on the field so the batsman run would not be given.
They did let a change of strike ( are you keeping up) and Gulraiz Sadaf faced the last ball instead of Akhtar.
He was run out trying to get two runs from the free ball.
Sunile Narine then came in for a 'Super Over' which saw Qalander win!
The Qalander CEO called for clarity on rules!

'Whatever happened today, I'll be honest, we didn't know the law," he started. "What we thought was since the batsmen crossed and then there was a no-ball as well, we needed just one run on the final ball. The umpires told us that when they don't signal the no-ball on field, and it's given after a review, the run(s) on the ball aren't counted.'

Brendan McCullum the captain was at a loss for words.

Well that makes two of us and so with that I am off to start the working week.

Have a great day and  spread a little happiness.
